Hi All,

The Website has had several changes done today (8-8-2008) and well worthwhile checking out. The QUIZ section of the Website has had only a couple of correct answers to questions to date but for this month of August 2008 I have added an incentive. I will persoanlly provide a FREE HMAS Voyager bumper sticker at the reunion to any Voyager providing the correct answers to the August QUIZ question.

The Sponsors menu, Special Message and Sick Bay menus have been updated.

Greenies Reunion 2008

There will be a reunion for all current and former Greenies (Navy Weapons and Electrical Branch) on the weekend 17/18/19th October,2008 at Mildura, on the Murray, North-West Victoria.

Hi Shipmates,

It is with deepest sympathies that we honour the passing of another ex Voyager Survivor.

Neville John Kendall o/n. R57467 Age 69 Rank LME, crossed the bar Friday morning 27/6/2008.

His service is being held at the Crematorium Chapel Hemmant Cemetery on Friday 4/7/2008 at 1200.

I have also added his name to Website VALE page.

Hi Shipmates,

It is with deepest sympathies that we honour the passing of another Voyager.

OWTON STUART (Mother) DUNN crossed the bar last Wednesday 25/6/2008 aged 83. He was a WW2 Navy man and served in HMAS Voyager II and was the stokers messdeck kellick on HMAS Quiberon as well as several other Ship's and Shore Establishments.

STU joined the RAN in 1943 and served for 31 years paying off as a CPO, after which he moved to Brisbane.

His service is being held at the Mt. Gravatt ...

Great to catch up with Rick Hannan and Graham Broom at the march and re-union at Twin Towns.

Beautiful weather and, as usual, being a "greenie" I was the only one in step with the pipe band.

Secret Project for Reunion surprise

Another special project is underway for the reunion and the person doing this will remain annonymous until the Saturday Evening of the reunion.

I can say that it will be quite a surprise and well worth the effort and time to create.

For those attending the reunion it will be quite a surprise to see the finished project.

Signed Plaque

Hi Voyagers,

The signed plaque (Wooden plaque with Bell and Ship's Profile) will be at the Voyager Reunion in Ballina and being presented to the Ballina Museum. It currently has the signatures and O/N's of many who have signed it in the past and at previous reunions. For those attending the reunion for the first time and have never added their name to it you will be asked to do so.

Les Napper from Voyager II

I am trying to locate Les Napper who was an able Seaman and worked as part of A turret (forward) crew. Les submitted a ship's company photo of Voyager in Hong Kong 1960 to Australian Warship Review in 2002 and I would like to get a copy of that photo. If anybody can put me in touch with Les I would greatly appreciate this, as my father Merv Eastgate ,who was a LEM (power) at the time, is in that photo. Dad was later a Petty Officer (Power) on Voyager as well.

See "Crossed the Bar". Jim, aged 65, passed away on the Monday 24th March. Funeral last Friday 28th. We didn't see a lot of Jim, he was a Voyager Survivor, an ex ERA and went through "Nirimba". Really good Rugby player despite his small size. After the Navy he was an engineer on Tugs around Brisbane until his retirement to Sandstone Point. It's a sad day when another of "us" goes over the bar.

I went to the RAN Rememberance Service and Commemorating the 44th Anniversary of Loss of Voyager memorial service at St Mary's Kangaroo Point Brisbane last Sunday (10th Feb). Emotional, sad but excellent service by Reverend Stephen Redhead. There were some Voyager survivors there (Larry Parkes, Vic McDade, Ali Khan & myself), many ex RAN & Naval Association members, Navy Band, Serving Officers (eg Commanding Officer HHQ-SQ), Queensland Governor etc. A very good morning tea afterwards. ...
