Merv was a long serving Greenie of the RAN and joined the RAN in 1949 as a recruit in the electrical branch. He eventually paid off in April 1964 as a PO Electrician after having served in numerous bases and ships. He also served at Maralinga and Woomera. He suffered severely in his latter years and was also a ex Voyager shipmate as well as HMAS Vengance and HMAS Melbourne. His favourite saying was "D04 ... Moule - 42003. Served in HMAS Voyager D04 and attended the last reunion. He went to Vietnam on Hobart (March to September 1967) and Torrens (February to March 1972). Bob was in the first intake of apprentices to attend HMAS Nirimba. Bob suddenly passed away peacefully at home at Kuranda Qld this morning, 7th May 2009. OWTON STUART (Mother) DUNN crossed the bar last Wednesday 25/6/2008 aged 83. He was a WW2 Navy man and served in HMAS Voyager II and was the stokers messdeck kellick on HMAS Quiberon as well as several other Ship's and Shore Establishments. STU joined the RAN in 1943 and served for 31 years paying off as a CPO, after which he moved to Brisbane. His service is being held at the Mt. Gravatt ...
