Vale - William Kay Battersby (Bill B)
FESR Qld Member and ex Voyager crew

Sadly I pass this message of condolence over the passing of a shipmate and friend, William Kay Battersby (aka Lord Admiral Bilgewater as many of you would remember)

Bill crossed the Bar at 10:45 pm Monday 20th April 2015 after a long hard battle with cancer.

Bill will be very sadly missed by wife Noralee, family, many shipmates and friends.

He was born in England (Liverpool 15th Sept 1942.
Bill joined the RAN in October 1959 and served in the following ships' and depots :
HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Voyager 3/11/1960 - 20/9/1962,HMAS Anzac, HMAS Tarangau, HMAS Creswell, HMAS Melbourne, HMAS Albatross.

Bill discharged in October 1968 after 9 years of service as a Greenie, LEM(P)

It is with heartfelt sorrow that I pass along condolences to all family and friends of Bill over their recent and very sad loss.

May Bill rest forever at peace in God's caring hands and may his final voyage be with fair winds and smooth seas to God's Harbour.

1pm (1300) Monday 27th April 2015

It is requested for all those serving and ex service persons attending to wear medals.
