It is pretty poor when our own website cant put something up to remember the mates who were lost 46 years ago, may they rest in peace, and I think that will be my last communication with this website, disgraceful.

I totally agree with ricked. I was disappointed that no mention was made of the 46th anniversary. anniversary Icon_sad

You guys are pretty much narrow sighted when you don't even bother to check out the Website fully. It appears the only place you bother to look is the forum (blogg section) which is only a sub section of the Website

For your information the Main Voyager Website is http://www.freewebs.com/voyager-reunions and the guest book, Main page had information posted by me personally and infact the information by me was the only input. I left a BIG RED display on the Main page and also in the guestbook. I seen no other input by any other "Voyager". In fact the use and input to the Website forum has been poor to say the least as if you look around you will see that most of the input is done by a couple of regulars only plus myself.

It's a shame that some "technically challenged" people are so quick to tear down the good work of others. Initially Les Sheehan set up the HMAS Voyager website to assist with information regarding the All Crews re-union in February 2009.
The site has now developed into a "one stop" shop for all HMAS Voyager Crew members, their families and friends to share information, in the absence of any other website.

Les receives no payments for his work on the designing and maintenance of the HMAS Voyager All Crews Website.
Being Webmaster is a time consuming, mostly thankless position, which impacts on both Les' and Irene's family life They are prepared to do this to keep the memories of D31 and D04 alive for EVERYONE involved.
We can't think of any other person who would be prepared to put in the "graft" that Les does, especially on the maintenance of the site.
Fortunately the positive feedbacks Les receives make up 99% of the comments. The positives from this Website far outweigh any negatives. i.e. re-connecting old shipmates, announcements - especially for those who have "crossed the bar", Sick Bay, Navy news and the feedback forums, future branch re-unions and get togethers etc

In answer to the 2 negative, entries on the website re: Lack of response by people on 10th Feb.
A permanent full page memorial to D04 is available on the Website for all to see.
Many, many people prefer to privately remember the event with just family and friends.

The Queensland Friends of Voyager group has been the driving force behind the fantastic display at the Ballina Naval Museum for D31 & D04, and will continue to support the museum with further donations of memorabilia etc in the coming years.

On March 14th, the Queensland Friends of Voyager group will hold the first of the 4 social get togethers for 2010, at Bernie & Anita Verwayen's home in the Mooloolah Valley. Everyone is welcome. On that day over 40 people will drink a toast and remember HMAS VOYAGER.

Neither was there any mention of the special service at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Brisbane on Sunday 14 February in commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the sinking of VOYAGER (& the loss of all members of the RAN in peace & war). I heard about it by pure accident on the Friday before the service.

The cause of this was largely a breakdown in communications which, hopefully, will not occur again.
