It is my sad duty to once again post information on a shipmate who has crossed the bar.
Martin (Joe) Clyde Turner R/55665 joined the RAN on 25th June 1958 as a Rct/Smn for 9 years.
He eventually retired as a CPO/WM many years later after having served on several ships including HMAS Voyager.
He served in Voyager in the early ‘60s as an Able Seaman Gunner (Q) and retired as a CPOWM.
He left Voyager on 2-11-1963 on annual leave and then to HMAS Lonsdale on 29/11/1963.
Our shipmate crossed the bar Thursday, 30 May 2013 aged 72 years young.
Joe had suffered a major stroke last year and had been in a high-care facility for most of this year.
Ships and Bases: Cerberus, Diamantina, Melbourne, Harman, Voyager July 61-Nov 63, Lonsdale, Hobart, Supply.
On behalf of all ex Voyagers Irene and I pass on our condolences to Joe's Wife, Margaret, family and friends on the sad loss.

We wish Joe safe and calm travels on his final voyage.
