Feb 2009
Hi All - This is it. The last two years have culminated in the event to take place in Ballina this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 13th - 15th February 2009. The committee extends thanks to those well wishers unable to attend for any reason and we thank you for your wishes and hope to catch up with many of you at the next reunion wherever it may be.
A likely date is 2012 as that will be the 55th anniversary of the commissioning. This year is the 45th Anniversary of the loss of HMAS Voyager with 82 shipmates.
The Website and Forum has brought together "Voyagers" and with luck will continue to locate many more who are unaware of the reunions. All ex Voyagers (D31 & D04) are invited to make use of both and optionally register as members.
Ballina Maritime museum has created a terrific stand for HMAS Voyager and will be presented with several additional items on the Sunday afternoon to add to that display. So, whenever you are passing through or near Ballina make it a date to drop in and view the museum and all it's displays and the Voyager stand. Don't forget to take the camera with you.
We also extend a thank you to Rod Meares (DDG & Daring Assoc.) for allowing us to join in with his group under our Voyager banner at this years Anzac Day March in Brisbane. All ex Voyagers are invited to attend and we hope to see as many as possible turn up for this.
Regards
Les Sheehan
