VALE: Douglas HASKINGS
With sadness we miss another ex HMAS Voyager shipmate and a long time member of the FESR Association.
Doug passed away in Adelaide on 10th March 2020 aged just several days shy of his 75th Birthday.
Doug fell ill in January 2020 and following that admitted to hospital where he remained until he crossed the bar.
Doug's passing will be very sadly missed by many as he was also the President of the SA FESR Division for a long period and long time member of the FESR Association.
Doug enlisted for 12 years from Brisbane as a JR in 1961 going direct to HMAS Leeuwin thence many drafts during his Naval career.
He joined HMAS Voyager in January 1963 and left in August 1963 after a great trip to the Far East including Japan.
Doug joined Voyager as a REM and later in his Naval career became a POE(WE).
On behalf of all FESR Association members, Voyager family and the wider Naval community I pass along our heartfelt sympathies to Doug's wife Glenda, family and friends in this hour of need.
We wish Doug a safe voyage with calm seas and gentle breezes for this his final voyage.
RIP Shipmate
